Hello, my name is Andrea Casper, and I would like to welcome you to Consider It, a blog that inspires a practical approach to living.
I am inspired to live practically when I see others living life with less stress because they put thoughtful consideration into what they do and how they do it. I like to draw inspiration from my life experiences, observing others, and from what I read. So let me get you inspired too!
I am a wife and mother. My husband, Chris, and our children, Grace (22), Claire (21), Sarah (18), and Stephen (10), are five reasons practical living appeals to me. With one foot firmly planted in college with the girls and the other stretched way back to elementary school with Stephen, I feel like I am in a permanent lunge. So now you see my need for flexibility. I find that our family functions better when we discuss what needs to be done and how to do it. Sometimes our attempts end in failure, but at least next time we know what not to do!
I am also a recently retired middle school language arts teacher. For the last 20 years, I promoted practicality in my classroom whenever I could. Like Farmers Insurance, “[I] know a thing or two because [I’ve] seen a thing or two.” As a teacher, I would draw inspiration for how to live a better, more enjoyable life from the likes of Mark Twain, who said:
“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small manageable tasks, and starting on the first one.”
I am excited about sharing practical ways to approach some of the complexities of life. I hope you are inspired to consider what it is you want to do and then narrow down the steps you will need to take to get you there. I am happy to be along on the journey!
